Well I just love my Arduino, but haven’t really made anything with it, other than a series of blinky lights and a machine that makes a godawful lot of noise. Then I found this great site and it made me want to make an Arduino POV machine of my own! Thanks Carlito for doing all the hard work!
The only trouble is that to make the words, you need to turn every led on and off at the right time, and that involved a lot of graph paper, pens, typing, swearing and mistakes. So I decided to make a little flash movie where you can draw what you want to appear, and then copy and paste all the little ones and zeros into your Arduino sketch and that’s it! You can find the flash movie here.
Oh, and finally, my slightly adapted sketch is here. At the minute, the data is set to read ARDUINO.

Hello,
Thank you for coding the flash movie. I wanted to do something similar but I was to busy/lazy/dumb to do it. I’m also very pleased to see that my arduino code was useful to someone.
Cheers,
Carlos
This is among the most useful applications supporting development on arduino (and even on other microcontrollers plateforms).
Thanks a lot.
Keep on the good job
the links for the sketch and flash movie are not working.. help!
Hey Rama, thanks for the comment, I had moved hosting and something had gone wrong somewhere. All fixed now!
Thaks! I’m curious, how does your POV work? From the two pictures you have attached it doesn’t look like a rotating display
It works by moving the POV through the air, like by waving your arm or you could attach it to a bike or car or something. It isn’t designed to sit and display a message, although you could attach it to a motor and make it work that way!
